Rob Medlock

Rob Medlock was the Area Director of the Cleveland OSHA Office for more than 19 years and was also employed by OSHA as a Compliance Safety & Health Officer and Supervisor for an additional 14 years. He is recognized as an expert on Occupational Safety and Health matters and has vast experience in both General Industry and the Construction Industry.

During his tenure as Area Director, he was the senior government official in the Cleveland OSHA office and the responsible decision maker for over 17,000 OSHA Inspections. During his career he investigated or directed the investigation of more than 500 workplace fatalities.

A key component of his role was to determine whether employers violated safety standards and their degree of responsibility in workplace compliance. He has presided over approximately 4,750 OSHA Settlement Conferences with Employers who were cited by OSHA for violations of OSHA Standards. The main purpose of such conferences was to negotiate Settlement Agreements for OSHA cases involving citations to employers, assess culpability of the parties involved, and assure corrective measures were implemented to eliminate the hazards associated with the violations.

Since retiring from OSHA with an honored career, he joined SCR Safety Solutions and has provided expert consultation services in the safety and health arena to employers throughout Northeast Ohio and beyond.
